The JM Wright Arts Grants supported the production of Jack’s latest short film, Hitting the Road. A young adult, getaway driver crime narrative, Hitting the Road has not only helped Jack make a name for himself in the industry, but has kick-started a flourishing career. Jack has since been signed to a Perth-based production company and now works on various film and TV projects, including live TV campaigns.
A brave and moving ode to self-love, Tessa performed her original solo work I’m Not Going to Lie to You at two sold-out seasons at the New Zealand Fringe Festival and BATS Theatre in Wellington in 2021. The JM Wright Arts Grants supported the development of this work and allowed Tessa to overcome the many challenges faced by emerging artists, as well as refine her creative process and solidify her artistic practice.
Intertwining artistic disciplines, Hugh took his Year 12 Original Solo Performance based on the life of Vincent Van Gogh and brought it to life in the Perth Van Gogh Alive! Exhibition. Currently studying Music Theatre at the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts and with his sights set on performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023, Hugh is embracing the possibilities provided by the JM Wright Arts Grants to facilitate his artistic journey.
